PGS Worldwide is seeking a Conformal Coating / Potting Operator in Oldsmar, FL for a one year contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. In this role, you will mask, coat, pot, and encapsulate circuit boards and discrete assemblies using dispensing and coating machines and manual touch-up methods. You will follow prints, labeling diagrams, and mixing ratios to meet customer specifications while maintaining equipment and a safe, clean work environment.
Required Skills
Ability to read and interpret prints, labeling diagrams, and mixing ratios
Ability to operate dispensing and coating machines to meet customer specifications
Ability to mask and/or tape circuit boards in areas to remain free of conformal coating or potting
Ability to inspect assemblies for proper coating coverage
Ability to remove excess coating and perform manual touch-up as needed
Ability to maintain coating/dispensing machines, including changing fluids/mixers and cleaning machines
Ability to replenish chemicals, solvents, compounds, and process fluids, including dispensing into secondary containers and chemical cleaning
Ability to prepare and apply potting, bonding, and coating compounds, lubricants, spray coats, or insulated tape, including finishing processes
Ability to transport racks of circuit boards between work areas
Ability to perform general housekeeping duties to maintain a safe and clean work environment
Must complete applicable Specific Function Training courses
Must be able to read/write English
Must be able to take and pass a medical exam as outlined in the supplier guide
What You’ll Do
Operate multiple types of dispensing and coating machines to meet customer specifications
Mask/tape circuit boards prior to conformal coating or potting operations
Inspect coated assemblies and ensure proper coating coverage and quality
Perform manual touch-up and remove excess coating to maintain consistent quality
Encapsulate discrete assemblies
Prepare and apply potting, bonding, and coating compounds and related materials per required ratios and instructions
Maintain machines and work area, including fluid/mixer changes, cleaning, and housekeeping
Transport racks of circuit boards and advance/retrieve product, material, and tools as needed
Complete applicable training and perform additional tasks as assigned to support production needs
Work Schedule / Shift
Mon–Thurs 5:00 AM – 3:30 PM EST
Overtime available on weekends
