Responsibilities: The bus assistant may perform all or a combination of the following depending on student's needs.
This position is currently working on the Chehalis SD and the Olympic Academy school schedules.
* Supervise students and making safety regulations a priority while riding the bus.
* Properly secure wheel chairs and safety vests when required.
* See that each child is safely seated buckled and stays that way.
* Assist in student management issues.
* Keeps a record of any incidents.
* Assist in Loading and unloading in wheel chairs or other mobile assistance devices.
* Work cooperatively with driver, schools, and parents.
* Monitor and assist with children's special needs, (i.e.: seizures, head positions, body fluids (saliva, vomit, urine/feces etc.) * Ability to assist in the execution of a bus evacuation drills and actual.
* Maintain confidentiality of students issues and records.
* Ability to remain calm and maintain control over passengers in a crisis situation.
* Perform other duties as assigned by Transportation Director.
QUALIFICATIONS: * High school diploma or general education degree (GED); job related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
* First Aid, CPR card required.
Hourly * Minimum 4 hours a day.
* Medical, Dental and Vision.
