Sr. Irrigation Technician

PRIMARY DUTY: To manage and maintain all irrigation systems in parks and Parks-managed facilities.

This is accomplished by repairing, altering, programming, monitoring and installing irrigation systems.

Other duties include troubleshooting problems on irrigation systems; monitoring inventory levels of irrigation supplies and interacting with other City employees and the general public.

EDUCATION AND Minimum Requirements: * High School Diploma or equivalent.

* At least three (3) years of related maintenance work or a demonstrated proficiency in required knowledge, skills, abilities, and/or related certifications or licensures.

Preference may be given to experience in municipal parks * At least one-year experience in irrigation repair, maintenance, and operations.

* Any combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be considered.

CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES REQUIRED: * Valid Class "C" Texas Driver's License with a good driving record.

* TCEQ Irrigator's License required.
