This Talent Pipeline supports Area Manager level leadership roles across Texas, with an initial geographic focus on the Dallas Fort Worth and Austin metro areas, and potential expansion into additional Texas markets as business needs evolve. While we may be actively hiring for some of these roles at any given time, headcount, timing, and location needs shift regularly based on client demand and operational requirements.

Through this pipeline, we are building a bench of Area Management professionals with experience overseeing regional operations, field leadership, multi-site performance, client relationships, and team development. Levels and scopes may vary depending on the role, market, and client environment.
Responsibilities:
The Area Manager is a senior operational leader responsible for the overall performance of a defined geographic area, including safety, quality, and financial results. The role typically oversees multi-site operations within a designated territory and supports revenue growth, operational efficiency, and customer relationships across the area.
Area Managers / Directors partner with regional leadership and shared services teams to ensure consistent operational standards, reporting, and performance visibility. This role also plays a key part in shaping the area's organizational structure and building high-performing teams to support ongoing growth and business objectives.
Safety & Quality
Drive a strong safety culture across the Area, ensuring full compliance with corporate safety standards, reporting, metrics, and site-specific planning.
Ensure consistent execution of quality standards across all projects and operational teams. Profitability
Ensure projects meet or exceed bid-day gross margins through disciplined project controls.
Manage Area overhead to align with KPI expectations while supporting sustainable growth. Growth, Diversification & Markets
Lead bidding and execution across a diversified mix of industrial end markets, maintaining balance while prioritizing profitable, accessible opportunities.
Expand geographic coverage within the region to strengthen brand presence and market leadership. Cross-Selling & Customer Strategy
Champion a full-service, turnkey delivery model across existing and new customers.
Partner with regional leadership and sales to maximize service penetration, proposal development, and customer acquisition. Project Controls
Ensure adherence to project controls standards across the full project lifecycle, including budgeting, scheduling, forecasting, change management, and closeout.
Support continuous improvement of project controls processes and standards. Organizational Development
Design and evolve the Area's organizational structure to support safety, quality, profitability, and growth objectives.
Recruit, develop, and retain professional staff and craft leadership; support wage alignment and workforce standardization.
Develop leaders based on values-driven criteria and a commitment to performance and accountability. Resource Management
Ensure effective labor utilization (targeting ~90%) and maintain sufficient bench strength to support current work and future growth.
Coordinate resources across projects to support diversification and execution demands. Budgeting, Forecasting & KPIs
Partner with finance on annual budgets and quarterly forecasts, managing performance against revenue, profitability, and capital targets.
Lead the Area in alignment with KPI expectations established through strategic planning. Preconstruction & Leadership
Support estimating, bid reviews, and constructability analysis.
Develop direct reports in both technical and leadership capabilities.
Maintain working knowledge of key project, field, quality, and safety leadership roles.
Perform additional duties as assigned by regional leadership. Qualifications:
Most roles require a minimum of 15 years of experience in the construction of industrial projects.
Experience with strategic planning, financial statement evaluation, KPI development, leadership development, customer acquisition, basic human resource functions, and all other elements of leading a construction company.
Experience managing projects across multiple locations, typically up to $75MM in value per project, and multiple crews (at least 250-500 employees total across all projects).
Completion of OSHA 30 or equivalent safety training.
Experience with job costing programs such as Vista Viewpoint and Field Management.
Understanding of the following positions, whether from specific previous experience in the position, or proximity to the position in the past: Project Executive, Senior Project Manager, Project Manager, Project Engineer, Field Engineer, General Superintendent, Construction Manager, Site Superintendent, General Foreman, Foreman, Quality Technician, Safety Technician, and Safety Manager.
Proficient with all Microsoft Office products.
Proficiency with technical writing.
Driver's license with a clean driving record and maintenance of such driving record.
