Position Summary The Broadcast Network Engineer will support the ongoing operation of the Educational Communication Board's (ECB) wide area network (WAN) and oversees deployment of upgrades to equipment and system capabilities.
This incumbent will also provide advice and recommendations to the unit's supervisor and agency leadership on the adoption and procurement of new and emerging technologies.
Additionally, the incumbent will provide key network security services, as well as support for and acquisition of existing and legacy telecom communications equipment for field installation and use.
The incumbent reports to the Director of Core Engineering; however, the agency-wide integration of this position also requires considerable coordination with, and direction from, the Director of Operations Center and the Director of Field Engineering.
Work is performed and reviewed under general supervision.
Special Requirements: * Requires a variable, non-traditional work schedule including some nights and weekends.
* Requires regular standby or on-call status, which will be compensated in accordance with the State Compensation Plan.
* Requires frequent in-state travel.

Salary Information This classification is assigned to pay schedule-range 07-34.
The starting hourly rate for the Broadcast Network Engineer (IS Network Services Senior) position will be between $35.00 - $40.00 per hour ($72,800.00 and $83,200.00 annually), depending on candidate qualifications, plus excellent benefits.
For current and eligible former State employees, compensation will be set in accordance with the State Compensation Plan at the time of hire.
A 12-month probationary period may be required.
Job Details Due to the nature of the position, ECB will conduct background checks on applicants prior to selection.
