Assembler - 2nd Shift

PGS Worldwide is actively hiring for a skilled Electronic Assembler to join a leading aerospace and defense manufacturer in Owego, NY. This is a 1-year contract-to-hire position on a 2nd Shift schedule (Monday – Thursday, 3:30 PM – 1:30 AM). We are looking for a reliable individual to assist with the assembly of electronic and mechanical modules, boards, and cables.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Assembly Experience: Ability to perform repetitive and non-repetitive production assembly operations on electronic and mechanical assemblies (modules, boards, panels, drawers, frames, and cables).

Blueprint Reading: Proficiency in working from diagrams, drawings, and written instructions to make initial layouts.

Tool Usage: Experience using a variety of hand and power tools for assembly tasks.

Quality Control: Ability to perform continuity checks on work in process and completed units.

Rework: Experience disassembling, modifying, reworking, reassembling, and testing assemblies is preferred.

Job Responsibilities In this role, you will be responsible for building complex assemblies and subassemblies according to strict specifications. You will work within a manufacturing environment where attention to detail and adherence to quality standards are critical.

Perform assembly operations on electronic and mechanical components, including modules, boards, panels, and cables.

Utilize hand and power tools to construct assemblies based on technical diagrams and drawings.

Conduct quality inspections on the processing line to ensure products meet quality specifications.

Perform continuity checks on completed work and work-in-process.

Disassemble, modify, rework, reassemble, and test experimental or prototype assemblies under simulated conditions as needed.

Maintain a clean and safe work environment while following all safety protocols.
