Description:

Serve as a wage employee in the End User Support area of Business and Management Systems (BAMS). This position supports the daily technology needs of the Office of the President, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Executive Vice President and Provost senior management areas.

The successful applicant will have the following duties and responsibilities: * Answer phones, triage requests, create tickets and/or update tickets with new information.

* Process computer hardware and peripherals for deployments and disposals.

* Assist customers with the configuration and use of iPads and other devices such as desktop, laptops, and phones.

* Assist with maintaining the accuracy and integrity of data within our asset tracking and ticketing systems.

* Provide support to customers and work with technicians on support requests.

Required Qualifications * Experience working in an IT support or help desk environment * Experience with ticketing systems such as ServiceNow * Experience with Windows and Mac operating systems * Experience with mobile operating systems * Experience interfacing with end users over the telephone, via email or in person to effectively communicate problem status and resolutions * Good interpersonal, customer support, verbal and technical writing skills tailored to a level appropriate for the intended audience * Must have valid driver's license Preferred Qualifications * Experience working in Virginia Tech environment * Experience working in a Windows Active Directory environment Pay Band 4 Overtime Status Non-Exempt: Eligible for overtime Appointment Type Regular Salary Information $18 - $20/hr Hours per week 15-25 Review Date 2/9/2026 Additional Information The successful candidate will be required to have a criminal conviction check.
