Position Summary
The Assembler 3 position performs disassembly, assembly, re-work and minimum testing of various electrical/electronic equipment
Responsibilities
Use electric solder equipment to IPC-A-610B standard
Cut, prepare and pre-tin wires, prepare batteries, apply conformal coat, marking and adhesive bonding
Follow written and verbal instructions
Complete work according to instructions, specifications and procedures, under direct and/or limited supervision
Perform a variety of complex mechanical and/or electromechanical assembly operations in accordance with company instructions and procedures
Conduct inspections of own and/or other associates work to insure correctness in accordance with company and/or customer drawing
Minimum testing of various electrical/electronic equipment, as needed
Maintain a clean and orderly workstation adhering to 5S standards
Maintain an acceptable safety record
Maintain an acceptable attendance record. Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required. May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and additional hours as necessary
Adhere to all company guidelines, policies and procedures
Able and willing to comply with Drug-Free Workplace policies and pass all related drug/alcohol screenings as required
Assist other departments with job duties, tasks, training, and development as needed Other responsibilities as assigned
Physical Requirements
Approximately 90% sitting and 10% standing/walking about in-door Company facilities
Lift and Carry up to 35 lbs
Use head and neck in static position, looking up/down and side-to-side
Perform light lifting from floor, table and shelf
Use hand tools, power tools and electric soldering gun
Perform major hand grasping and fine finger manipulations using both hands
Push and pull carts or mobile tables, loaded and unloaded
Minimal: heavy lifting from floor or higher, bending, twisting, climbing, lifting arms above shoulders, kneeling
Minimal: exposure to excessive noise, hazardous chemicals, hazardous equipment, uneven walking surfaces
Typing with computer and keyboard
Qualifications
Good mechanical aptitude
Able to operate a variety of hand tools, power tools, electric soldering gun and light machinery; Proficient in using the tools, equipment, and inspection aids applicable to the scope of work assigned
Capable of performing basic mathematics
Ability to read and interpret company documents, such as safety rules, operating/ manufacturing instructions, policies and procedure
Good manual dexterity required to work with small parts
Able to problem-solve using existing procedures to perform straightforward tasks
Effective oral, written and interpersonal skills
Must be able to work all shifts and available for overtime and weekends as needed
Able to perform complex mechanical and/or electromechanical assembly operation
Capable of solving problems in situations that are atypical or infrequently occurring based on existing precedents or procedures
Skilled at simple welding tasks and/or brazing, or soldering
Experience with MS Office Suite
Education & Experience
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
Years of Experience: Minimum 5 years of prior related work experience in an electrical/avionics manufacturing/testing environment or completed OJT training for at least 10 products
