We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Shipping and Packaging Clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all outgoing shipments are properly prepared for packaging and packaged in a timely and accurate manner. The position is on 1st Shift working Mon - Fri 7:00AM to 3:30PM with a 30 minute break for lunch at 12:00PM. Overtime is available periodically.

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

Clean and process goods in preparation of final shipment

Prepare and package products for shipment according to company standards

Ensure that all product is properly labeled and stored in the correct locations

Maintain accurate records of all outgoing shipments

Inspect and verify incoming shipments for accuracy and damages

Maintain a clean and organized shipping and receiving area

Assist with inventory management as needed

Assist in the labeling and general inventory keeping of all products in the facility

Operates forklifts while loading and unloading goods and equipment

Assists paint-line with various needs (loading/unloading the line, masking of parts, cleaning, etc.)

Perform other related job activities as required

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Report to Shipping Manager.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide assistance to new hires and colleagues as potential opportunities arise.

Requirements

EDUCATION: High School Diploma preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

1+ years of experience in shipping and receiving preferred

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face-shield, gloves etc.)

SKILLS / ABILITIES:

Strong attention to detail

Proficient in English

Experience in using powered and hand tools

Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings

Ability to creatively consider processes and recommend improvements to bolster efficiency

Ability to work within the confines of a standard employee handbook regarding attendance, discipline, off-work conduct

Ability to perform essential shop math consisting of fractions, decimals, basic algebra, and geometry

EQUIPMENT USED: Forklifts, Hoists, Cranes, Wrapping & Packaging Machines, Strapping Tools, Hand Tools, Power Tools
