DESCRIPTION: Assist the school(s)/central office in the area of compliance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: provide on-going support for building-level staff/teachers on the guidance of local and procedures governing special education.
Ongoing compliance monitoring of IEPs that includes reviewing documents to ensure quality programming
Ensure IDEA compliance at the district, state, and federal level
Complete Prior Written Notice (PWN) for Child Study, Eligibility, and IEP Meetings
Review Individualized Educational Program/Plan (IEP), in a timely manner, using the checklist to provide feedback
Provide Educational Testing (Woodcock Johnson) as per request
Provide support to new special education teachers
Effectively communicate with team members
Maintain the security and confidentiality of specified records and information
Other assignments as deemed necessary by Director of Student Services to ensure compliance within the school(s)
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE: Current licensed special education teacher (no provisional license).
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Hold a Collegiate or Postgraduate Professional License with an endorsement in special education. (Teachers with a provisional license are not eligible for this position.)
REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to lift and carry an object weighing up to 25 lbs.
First Aid Certificate, including CPR
Valid Driver's License
REPORTS TO: Director of Student Services
Salary Scale: Teacher +20
