School Based Virtual Learning Facilitator

Salary Range: $30,389 to $39,008

Position Purpose:

Suffolk Public Schools seeks a School-Based Virtual Learning Classroom Facilitator that has a strong classroom presence, with the ability to manage a classroom (in-person) in order to foster a positive learning environment to set students up for success as they receive instruction using a virtual platform. The ideal facilitator will also be comfortable using a variety of technology platforms to support student learning.

Essential Performance Responsibilities:

Establish strong classroom systems and procedures to maximize student learning time

Set clear classroom rules and expectations so all students can thrive using a virtual platform

Manage student behavior in order to foster a positive learning environment

Communicate regularly with the Virtual Learning teacher to build a collaborative partnership

Serve as the liaison of grade input from the identified virtual program's Canvas LMS to the district grading system

Troubleshoot basic technology support as needed

Manage updates to student enrollments

Communicate with parents regarding student learning in the virtual classroom

Equipment:

Uses standard office equipment such as personal computers, printer, copy and fax machines, and telephone.

Requirements:

Employee of district, including access to district email address, gradebook, and SIS

Completion of identified Training and Orientation

Experience managing a classroom of students (preferred)

Physical and Mental Demands, Work Hazards:

Works in standard office and school building environments.
