PURPOSE OF THE JOB: Developmental Specialist works with families to provide age-appropriate developmental services for infants and toddlers, 0-3 years of age.
Developmental Specialists travel to meet families in their most natural environment often in their home or village.
Developmental Specialists work within a multidiscipline team and help children and families transition into their next placement before the age of 3.
This position will adhere to all policies and procedures as outlined in the BBAHC Policy and Procedures Manual and the State and Federal Rules and Regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS: * Candidate must have a bachelor's degree in an early childhood special education, social work or related field.
* Professional licensure/certification in teaching, social work, or master's degree in related field.
* Must have a minimum of one year experience working with young children.
* Must be able to work within a team.
* Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the child served in their case load.
* Will complete state-mandate Part C credentials the first six months on the job during regularly scheduled work hours.
* Must be able to obtain Alaska SEED credentials of level 9 or higher.
