Application Security / Checkmarx

Job Summary

We are seeking an Application Security Engineer with strong hands-on experience supporting Checkmarx or similar SAST platforms.

This role focuses on providing technical support, managing upgrades and patching, coordinating with vendors, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to strengthen application security processes and tools.

The ideal candidate brings strong troubleshooting abilities, experience in Agile environments, and a deep understanding of OWASP security principles.

Key Responsibilities

Provide hands-on technical support for Checkmarx and the Checkmarx ONE platform.

Drive vendor accountability to address and resolve product issues or defects.

Support patching activities and perform upgrade testing for security tools.

Collaborate with Product Owners, Application Security Champions, developers, and offshore teams.

Maintain accurate, updated documentation reflecting process and tooling changes.

Troubleshoot complex integration issues across security tools, pipelines, and development environments.

Assist in integrating AI-based detection and remediation tools with CI/CD pipelines and SAST solutions.

Required Qualifications

4+ years of application security experience.

2+ years of experience working in Agile environments and with Atlassian tools such as Jira and Confluence (or equivalent).

Strong understanding of OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities.

Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Strong customer service orientation.

Ability to troubleshoot complex application security and integration issues.

Experience integrating detection/remediation tools with CI/CD pipelines and SAST tools such as Checkmarx (preferred).

Preferred Qualifications

2+ years of cloud experience.

3+ years of scripting experience (Python preferred).

2+ years of SQL experience.
