BMA is seeking a Senior Telecommunications Network Engineer to support our DLA JETS Wide Area Network Support Services contract. This position is located in Columbus, OH.

Job Summary

Serves as Lead Telecommunications Network Engineer for a shift.

Delivers expert level experience in telecommunications network design and management.

Works on complex or moderately complex projects to analyze, design, plan, program, and implement voice networks, WAN and WAN data networks, wireless networks, and/or network management systems to support voice and data services; remains involved with all phases of telecommunications network design, implementation, and analysis.

Analyzes and develops telecommunications networks supporting a wide range of capabilities, including voice, data, video, and/or wireless services.

Develops designs and plans for installation and maintenance of telecommunications systems from project inception to conclusion.

Analyzes the problem and the characteristics of the information to be transported.

Defines the problem and develops system requirements and network specifications.

Closely coordinates with other information system professionals to ensure proper implementation of network services.

Creates alternative telecommunication solutions and backup plans in coordination with functional users.

Develops and manages the evaluation and cost estimation of voice and data WAN services from telecommunications carriers, designs access and backbone networks using carrier services, and manages or creates the analysis and design of wireless voice or data networks using private radio facilities or commercial services.

Provides technical and administrative direction for personnel responsible for telecommunications network design, implementation, and operations tasks, including the review of work products for correctness, adherence to the design concept and to user standards, and progress in accordance with schedules.

Makes recommendations for approval of major network installations.

Prepares milestone status reports (POAM), and deliveries and presentations on network progress to colleagues, subordinates, and end user representatives.

Clearance Requirements

There is a Top Secret Security clearance requirement for this position.

Required Skills & Certifications

10+ years' experience with telecommunications.

8+ years' experience supporting local or wide area networks.

2+ years' experience with local or wide area network administration.

One or more of the following application delivery, load balancing, and security engineering certifications: F5 Certified Administrator, F5 Certified Technical Specialist, or F5 Certified Solution Expert. (Preferable: two or more certifications)

Two or more of the following IAT Level certifications: CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+, CND, SSCP, CASP-CE, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP (or Associate), GCED, GCIH.

Two or more of the following Computing Environment certifications:

Cisco Certified Design Associate (CCDA)

Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert-Enterprise Infrastructure (CCIE- EI)

Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert-Enterprise Wireless (CCIE-EW)

Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)

Cisco Certified Network Professional-Enterprise (CCNP E)

Check Point Certified Security Administrator (CCSA)

Check Point Certified Security Principles Associate (CCSPA)

Check Point Certified Security Expert (CCSE)

Check Point Certified Security Master (CCSM)

Sun Certified Network Administrator (Sun SCNA)

Desired Skills & Certifications

Experience supporting DLA contracts.

BS or BA in telecommunications or related information technology field.

Project Management Professional (PMP) from a recognized certification organization.
