2026-2027- Elementary Computer Science Teacher
Responsible for delivering high-quality, inquiry-based instruction that aligns with the Mississippi College- and Career-Readiness Standards for Computer Science.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Education: A Bachelor's degree is mandatory.
Licensure: Candidates must hold a valid Mississippi teaching license with a commensurate endorsement (e.g., STEM, Computer Science, or Technology Education).
Technology Competency: Applicants must validate their technical proficiency by meeting minimum scores on MDE-approved assessments such as IC3 or equivalent substitutes.
Key Responsibilities:
Curriculum Delivery: Instruct students in foundational topics including coding basics, robotics fundamentals, computational thinking, and algorithms.
Lesson Planning: Develop and implement engaging, hands-on lesson plans that make complex technology concepts accessible to young learners.
Classroom Management: Maintain a positive, inclusive learning environment and manage student behavior according to school and district policies.
Assessment: Evaluate student performance and development using data-driven insights to inform instruction and provide feedback to parents.
Collaboration: Work with other educators to integrate computer science skills into core academic subjects and participate in professional development.
Other duties as assigned.
Core Skills:
Proficiency in the Google Suite, basic keyboarding and the ability to troubleshoot hardware and software.
