The Senior Commodity Manager, localization will lead localization commodity strategy for Metals, Stamping, and Ceramics to ensure cost competitiveness, supply continuity, and supplier capability. This role drives value through strategic sourcing, supplier development, and cross-functional collaboration, while enabling resilient and localized supply chains aligned with business growth.
General Responsibilities
• Manages inventory management and material budgets
• Manages analyses of market conditions and trends to predict future supply needs
• Manages cross functional team in the execution of medium to large strategic sourcing initiatives and the implementation of category strategies
• Responsible for consistent communication with suppliers to ensure timelines is met
• Manage interactions between suppliers and functional teams to answer any questions related to any documents
• Manages negotiations ranging from Long Term Agreements to individual Purchase Orders
Experience / Qualifications
• A university degree required (i.e. Bachelors degree) or equivalent relevant work experience.
• Ability to lead, coach, and develop team members
• Holds self and others accountable to achieving goals and standards
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment to handle multiple competing tasks and demands
• Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation
• Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results
• Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity
• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
• Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customers
Additional Requirements:
In line with Metals, Stamping, and Ceramics strategy; develops localization commodity strategies, sourcing roadmaps, and supplier footprint optimization
Monitor raw material markets, cost drivers, and risk exposure, lead mitigation actions
Define and execute localization strategies to increase regional sourcing
Identify, qualify, and develop regional suppliers to meet competitiveness, technical, quality, and capacity requirements
Lead industrialization, transfer, and ramp-up of localized components
Deliver annual cost productivity, inflation mitigation, and working capital improvements
Ensure savings validation and alignment with commodity strategy
Acts as senior procurement partner to Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Program teams
Influence design and make-buy decisions to enable cost-effective, local manufacturing
Support new project and production launches with robust sourcing plans
Develop and mentor sourcing and commodity specialists
Experience in strategic sourcing or commodity management within manufacturing
Deep expertise in Metals, Stamping, and Ceramics
Proven leadership in localization and supplier development
