Our client, a pioneer in the uniform and linen rental industry with over 130 years of experience, is looking for a skilled Maintenance Technician in Indianapolis, IN. This role is essential for supporting industrial operations by ensuring equipment reliability, safety, and uptime.
Job Summary:
The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining large industrial textile processing equipment and facility systems. The focus will be on preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and emergency repairs to ensure continuous production. This position reports directly to the Chief Engineer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on industrial processing equipment and facility systems
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, including 3-phase 230V
- Maintain and operate boilers, water systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical systems
- Perform welding, cutting, carpentry, and general facility repairs
- Diagnose equipment failures, replace or repair components, test systems, and make adjustments
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests to minimize downtime
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and manufacturer manuals
- Maintain accurate and timely maintenance records
- Follow all company, OSHA, and regulatory safety requirements
- Work collaboratively and professionally with plant personnel
- Participate in training and continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications:
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- 2+ years of industrial or plant maintenance experience
- Strong electrical troubleshooting skills, including 3-phase systems
- Experience troubleshooting PLC systems
- Hands-on experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, boilers, and general facility maintenance
- Proficient with hand and power tools
- Ability to read and understand electrical schematics
- Strong communication, time management, and basic math skills
- Team-oriented, self-motivated, and committed to quality work
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Some locations may require relevant certifications, a boiler license, or PLC programming experience.
