JOB OVERVIEW

The Maintenance Technician - Electrical provides support to the facility by performing all necessary maintenance related functions safely, including troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining all electrical and mechanical equipment in a manufacturing environment to ensure production continuity and efficiency.

ROLE + RESPONSIBILITIES

Complete scheduled preventative maintenance on time and monitor results.

Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and determine parts and repairs needed.

Communicate all problems, repairs, solutions and recommendations to Maintenance Supervisors and employees affected.

Perform mechanical skills including but not limited to mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic and troubleshooting.

Work as a team with other Maintenance Technicians to accomplish workload.

Look up components and parts in electrical/mechanical manuals.

Maintain and improve knowledge of equipment and machinery.

Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.

Respond quickly in the event of an emergency, notify appropriate personnel and follow safety protocol

Survey buildings and repair mechanical systems to ensure they are consistent with health and safety regulations

Work with high voltage systems and specialized control systems like PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) while adhering to strict industry standards

Maintain heating and plumbing systems to ensure functionality

Understand and interpret written and oral instructions, comprehend and make inferences from written material, read and interpret machine and building blueprints

Complete work orders in an accurate and timely manner

Responsible for all machine maintenance with safety and functionality as a focus

Identify machine parts needed for repair or stocking and inform MRO Buyer

Perform work from an aerial platform scissors or boom lift in a safe, effective and efficient manner

Identify and report problems and possible solutions regarding the efficiency and functionality of production assets

Understand and comply with all lockout/tagout procedures

Clean, lubricate, and adjust parts, equipment, and machinery

Disassemble machinery and equipment to remove parts and make repairs

Examine parts for defects such as breakage and excessive wear

Observe and test the operation of machinery and equipment to diagnose malfunctions.

Repair and maintain the operating condition of industrial production and processing machinery and equipment

Cut and weld metal to repair broken metal parts, fabricate new parts, and assemble new equipment

Record and report parts and materials used, and order or requisition new parts and materials as necessary

Record and report repairs and maintenance performed QUALIFICATIONS

2+ years as an Electrical Maintenance Technician or experience performing electrical maintenance work withing a maintenance department

Good understanding and troubleshooting experience in electrical, hydraulic and other systems

Demonstrated experience as a maintenance technician

Physically capable of lifting 50 pounds

Strong understanding of general maintenance processes and methods

Experienced in operating a variety of equipment, including welders, cranes, pneumatics & electrical tools

Outstanding written and verbal communication skills

Excellent manual dexterity and problem-solving skills

Secondary school in electrical and knowledge of NEC

LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES

This position does not have any leadership responsibilities.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

Travel to and from Robinson Facilities is required.
