Location: Elgin, IL

Pay Rate: $55,000–$65,000/year

Schedule: Full-time Night Shift (Mon–Thu)

Central Texas Recruiting is seeking a Night Shift Shredder Lead to oversee shredder operations and manage a team of night shift employees.

This hands-on leadership role requires operating industrial shredding equipment, directing workflow, enforcing safety standards, and ensuring production goals are met. The ideal candidate has mechanical aptitude, prior heavy machinery experience, and proven team leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities

Operate and monitor industrial shredding equipment

Assign tasks and manage workflow for a crew of 9 employees

Enforce OSHA and company safety protocols

Train new operators and reinforce standard operating procedures

Maintain cleanliness and organization in shredder area following 5S standards

Monitor production output, downtime, and material documentation

Communicate with day shift leadership and address mechanical issues promptly

Qualifications & Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications preferred

2–5 years experience in manufacturing, recycling, or industrial operations

Prior leadership or lead-hand experience

Strong mechanical aptitude and experience with shredders, conveyors, or heavy machinery

Forklift experience preferred

Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in a fast-paced environment

Hands-on leadership and team accountability skills
