C++ / Java Software Engineer

Basic Qualifications

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering, Technology or Mathematics field. Also requires 2+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree and 6 months of job-related experience. Must have C++.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:: Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

We are ready to hire an experienced C++ (Java) Software Engineer for the AN/BYG-1 Submarine Combat System delivered to the United States Navy (USN) and Royal Australian Navy (RAN) Submarine fleet. Our close-knit team is passionate about delivering the best product to the Navy to help protect our country. Our team works closely with the Submarine community to develop solutions that allow the Navy to carry out high-stakes national security missions.

As a Experienced Software Engineer, you’ll perform software requirements analysis, participate in research and design, and develop and test software and tools. From inventing new products or enhancing existing applications, your talent will be front and center.

What you’ll experience:

Develop software in C++ and Java within a Linux environment to meet the system requirements for the Navy

Write code, test, integrate and document software solutions

Analyze system, functional and performance requirements and how they impact new or existing code

Conduct software peer reviews for others on your team

Perform software unit test, and supporting integration and test

Shape future products by contributing to the architecture framework used across multiple products or systems

What you bring to the table:

Strong understanding of software engineering concepts, principles, and theories

Solid knowledge of the software development process

Redhat/Linux experience

Excellent communication skills

Strong knowledge of technology trends and the ability to advocate for new ideas, products and process improvements

Ability to effectively handle complex assignments and work through challenging problems with external and internal stakeholders

Creative thinking with the ability to effectively multi-task

Workplace Options:This position is On-Site (with Hybrid potential after 6 month).While on-site, you will be a part of the Progeny Manassas facility on Ashton Avenue.

Combined Salary Range

USD $100,219.00 - USD $111,180.00 /Yr.
