Job Summary This Job position will assume one, or multiple, instances of the Business Data Steward Roles as needed across business data domains.

This role will be supporting a single business data domain by responsibly managing data assets, data lineage, data quality, and supporting sound data analysis that rationalizes the applicable data governance strategy.

Associate Data Steward Business Data Steward Associate (Salary Grade 5) Business Data Steward (Salary Grade 6) About the Role Are you ready to help shape the future of customer experience at one of the nation's largest electric utilities?

AEP is embarking on a transformative journey to modernize our Customer Information Systems (CIS) and deploy next-generation AI platforms.

As part of this evolution, we are building a Data Stewardship team to support Customer data - and we're looking for curious, detail-oriented, and mission-driven individuals to join us at the ground level.

As an Associate Data Steward, you'll be a foundational member of this pioneering team, helping to ensure our customer data is accurate, accessible, and trustworthy.

You'll learn the ropes of data governance, support data quality initiatives, and contribute to the integrity of the data that powers our operations, decisions, and customer interactions.

What You'll Do: * Learn and Apply Data Governance Principles Operate within a defined data governance framework to support the management of customer data assets.

* Support Data Quality Initiatives Execute processes to improve data completeness, accuracy, consistency, and timeliness under the guidance of senior stewards.

* Collaborate Across Teams Build trust and work closely with business and technical teams to understand data needs and ensure alignment with governance strategies.

* Participate in the Data Stewardship Council Engage in cross-functional discussions to help shape the future of data stewardship at AEP.

* Develop Technical Skills Learn SQL, data cataloging, metadata management, and basic database structures to analyze and profile data.

What We're Looking For: Business Data Steward Associate (Salary Grade 5) Education: * Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, business or related field of study.

* Associate's degree in computer science or related field of study with 2 years of relevant work experience.

* High School diploma/GED with 4 years of relevant work experience.

Experience: * No additional experience required beyond what is needed to satisfy the educational requirements above.

Business Data Steward (Salary Grade 6) Education: * Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, business or related field of study.

* Associate's degree in computer science or related field of study with 2 years of relevant work experience; * High School diploma/GED with 4 years of relevant work experience.

Experience: * In addition to any experience required above, 2 years of relevant work experience is required.

Additional Expectations: The ideal talent: * Is an early-career professional with a degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or a related field of study.

* Has 2 years of relevant work experience in an electric utility or similarly regulated industry * Passionate about data, detail-oriented, and eager to learn * A strong communicator who thrives in collaborative environments * Comfortable with change and excited by the opportunity to help build something new * Curious about how data powers customer experiences and business decisions What You'll Get: At least 2 roles are expected to be filled.

Business Data Steward Associate (Salary Grade 5) $65,000.00-$75,000.00 (USD) Business Data Steward (Salary Grade 6) $81,000.00-$91,000.00 (USD) In addition to a competitive compensation, AEP offers a unique comprehensive benefits package that aims to support and enhance the overall well-being of our employees.

Compensation Data Compensation Grade: SP20-005 Compensation Range: $63,496.00 - $93,188.50 The Physical Demand Level for this job is: S - Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally (Occasionally: activity or condition exists up to 1/3 of the time) and/or a negligible amount of force frequently.

(Frequently: activity or condition exists from 1/3 to 2/3 of the time) to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.

Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.

Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
