Primarily Work directly with all areas of the Engineering Department and Production to ensure that projects are timely and accurately completed.
Work closely with the Sr.
Manufacturing Engineer to assist in hands-on projects with our equipment.
Other duties would include working with other departments such as maintenance and production to communicate objectives and how to properly complete projects.
Ensure that the organizational culture of the company is being followed.
Rotation Schedule including on the weekend.
Managing: team leads and supervisors Report to: Production Manager Duties and Responsibilities: • Ensure the production plan is achieved with optimal resource utilization.
• Optimize the process flow to control the work in process and inventory control.
• Lead the initiatives to reduce/eliminate the materials variances generated in the foam area.
• Responsible for all team members in the foam area including the pelting operation for glass fiber.
• Main KPIs will be the foam production accomplishment, Scrap, Material utilization/variances, labor productivity.
• Participating in other continuous improvement projects to improve yield and reduce defects and scrap • Documenting production procedures and process parameters by writing work instructions.
• Develop and implement a training matrix to ensure skills are to the level needed for the operation in foam area.
• Flexible to work on all shifts to ensure standards • Other additional miscellaneous responsibilities might be included.
Qualifications/Training: • Excellent time management skills and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge and experience in process mapping.
• Bachelor in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering • Familiarity with lean manufacturing and six sigma methodology.
• Foam experience is a plus • Fluent in Spanish, French or Swahili is a plus• US Citizen or have unrestricted US employment authorization.
