OverviewThis position is located at the Steel Fab Facility in Florence, S.C.The successful candidate for this position will be able to perform Material Control and Support functions in support of NEWCON work at our Steel Fab facility in Florence, SC.In addition to material control the manufacturing technician is a multi-disciplined person that must have one or more skills within the trades.
Material Handlers will be preferred and considered first.
Other Manufacturing Technicians such as Welders, Electricians, Pipefitters, Shipfitters and Outside Machinists, Tool Crib operators, Carpenters, and Sheetmetal workers may be considered at the discretion of the employer.Key Responsibilities:\nReceive, identify, locate, and retrieve materials.\nMust possess an energetic and positive attitude and be willing to change and develop as requirements of assigned tasks dictate\nMay be required to physically lift items, up to 40 pounds.\nMust be prepared to travel and work overtime as required\nMay be required to travel to different EB sites or Shipyards and must be prepared to work any shift that may be required\nContribute to site improvement goals in Safety, Quality, Cost, Schedule, and Continuous Improvement.\n\nThis position has potential for cross training in other duty areas, such as handling Hazardous Materials and transportation duties.QualificationsRequired:\nHigh School Diploma or equivalent\n1+ years of warehouse experience\nCurrent forklift operator license or ability to obtain forklift license\nMust be willing to travel and work overtime as required\n\nPreferred:\nWarehousing and/or material handling and support services experience\nExperience with material ordering and inventory control computer systems\nAn understanding of material documents including receipts, shipping documents, etc.
