Position: Contractor

As a Network Engineering Contractor, you will play a crucial role in supporting our network infrastructure and collaborating with cross-functional teams. Here’s what you’ll be responsible for:

Testing and supporting new network hardware and configurations, adhering to Change Management procedures.

Conducting expert-level diagnostics to enhance network communications within corporation systems.

Assisting the Network Engineering team as needed.

Troubleshooting network issues and providing technical assistance in hardware and software queries.

Creating comprehensive network documentation to support firm operations.

Building new network connections for partner companies or new acquisitions based on requirements.

Collaborating with various teams to provide guidance on tools used within the organization.

Staying current with technological advancements through training and relevant literature.

Maintaining a thorough understanding of all corporate-owned hardware and software.

Partnering with third-party vendors and ISP providers.

Creating and maintaining up-to-date network diagrams for the organization.

Overseeing network inventory in the Configuration Inventory Database.

Conducting equipment patching, upgrades, and office refreshes.

Working closely with Information Security to ensure network security protocols are enforced.

Effectively communicating and collaborating with colleagues verbally and in writing.

Organizing and prioritizing work assignments to manage workload efficiently.

Applying ITIL best practices in network management.

Participating in an on-call rotation to provide 24/7 support.

Taking on additional tasks as assigned by your manager.

Qualifications/Requirements:

Associate degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Minimum of 6+ years of relevant industry experience, including 1+ years in a Senior Associate or equivalent role.

Preferred experience in Network Operations and Design.

Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems is advantageous.

Current certifications such as CCNA R&S, CCPN, or AWS Solutions Architect are preferred.

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with a professional demeanor.

Strong understanding of Firewall, Router, and Switching principles.

Proficient in Cisco ASA Firewalls, ISR Routers, Nexus and Catalyst Switches, Meraki MX, MS, and MR Equipment.

Experience with HSRP and Dynamic Routing protocols (BGP, EIGRP, OSPF).

Extensive knowledge of route-based and policy-based IPsec VPNs and Remote Access VPN tunnels.

Familiarity with monitoring tools such as SolarWinds NPM/NCM and PRTG.

Experience with Rancid, NPS servers, LDAP, RADIUS, TACACS, SCP, SNMP, SSH, DNS.

Strong understanding of Wireless technology, including design, implementation, troubleshooting, and 802.1x protocols.

Experience with MPLS, QOS, and Zone-Based Firewalls.

Knowledge of Cisco Umbrella, AnyConnect, and WLAN controllers.

Familiarity with AWS Cloud native services.

Experience with multi-cloud and multi-vendor network connectivity.

Understanding of Load Balancer technologies and principles.

Strong troubleshooting skills in L2/L3 issues, including voice, speed, and fragmentation.

Familiarity with integrating physical and virtual networking environments.

Basic knowledge of Windows and Linux server administration.

Self-motivated with the ability to work both as part of a team and independently.

Ability to comply with corporate policies and procedures regarding customer support.

Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities.

Detail-oriented and highly organized.

Compensation:

The annual base salary range for this role is between $50,000.00 and $100,000.00, depending on education, experience, training, skills, geographic location, and market comparison. Additional benefits include PTO, paid holidays, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability insurance, and a 401K plan.
