SUMMARY:

Under the direct supervision of the Goleta Operations Manager, the Manufacturing Engineer Technician is primarily responsible for supporting the engineering staff and the broader production team by providing technical assistance that optimizes manufacturing processes. This includes troubleshooting equipment problems, performing preventive maintenance, upkeeping production machinery, and implementing new systems. The Manufacturing Engineer Technician might also be tasked with conducting tests and inspections to ensure equipment complies with both internal and industry standards. In addition, this role may support building maintenance, including coordinating minor repairs, assisting with facility improvements, and helping ensure production and workspaces remain safe, functional, and compliant.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist in the design and testing of new production equipment and systems.

Maintain manufacturing equipment and tools, including the initial setup and validation of equipment

Support preventive maintenance on equipment as needed

Support production by providing technical insights and resolutions for machine failures

Implement process improvement strategies to enhance productivity and reduce costs.

Document technical procedures and compliance with safety regulations

Collaborate with other departments to integrate new technology, equipment, and manufacturing methods

Support facilities-related tasks as needed

Maintain regular and punctual attendance

Comply with all company policies and procedures

Other duties may be assigned as necessary

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Ability to identify issues, analyze them thoroughly, evaluate potential solutions, and make effective decisions to resolve challenges

Proficiency in CAD software

Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high-volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness

Must possess strong communication skills to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, customers, and colleagues in both verbal and written form.

QUALIFICATIONS (Education and experience)

AA degree in manufacturing technology, mechanical engineering or related field.

Certified Manufacturing Technician (CMT) and Lean Six Sigma Green Belt preferred.

2-5 years experience in manufacturing environment.

A combination of training, education, and experience that is equivalent to the qualifications listed above and that provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Working conditions are manufacturing floor environment combined with some normal office. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk; sit and stand; using the hands to handle, finger, or feel objects, tools, or controls. Occasionally, the employee must crouch or kneel. The employee must occasionally exert or lift up to 50 pounds. Successful performance requires good eyesight with or without corrective lens.

CMC’s budgeted salary range for this role is $63,273 - $74,438 annually. Final offers are based on candidate qualifications, experience, budget, and CMC’s commitment to fair and consistent compensation practices. The full salary range for this position is $63,273 - $85,604 annually.
