Company Description
The Safety Supervisor is primarily responsible for the development, implementation, enforcement, and management of programs to aid in environmental health and safety compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to utility construction, engineering, and surveying operations nationwide. The Safety Supervisor provides input and expertise into the development of environmental health and safety strategies, policies and procedures for managing risks across the company. Reporting to the HSE Director, the Supervisor will aid in the management of appropriate metrics and reports, development of systems and data management capabilities to support HS&E programs, and improve the understanding HS&E policies to all participants in the company.
Responsibilities and Duties
Responsible for assisting in development, implementation, evaluation, and enforcement of the company’s environmental health and safety policies and programs for strict compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations
Review and incorporate new environmental health and safety programs and standards as they are introduced and/or change within the utility industry
Develop, implement, and maintain policies, programs, procedures, and permits required to establish compliance with all local, state, and federal environmental health and safety regulations
Working with appropriate leaders, drive HS&E strategy across the company
Works with appropriate leaders and managers to design, plan and implement programs to train employees in safety practices and environmental compliance
In conjunction with HS&E Director, HS&E and Loss Control Coordinator, Asset Managers and Field Managers, develops, communicates and implements an appropriate HS&E plans for each operating area
Effectively manages HS&E programs that drive incident prevention and predictive behaviors
Works with local leadership and impacted employees or contractors, ensures the investigation of all environmental health and safety incidents is accurately and thoroughly completed
Represents the organization in community or industry related environmental health and safety programs

Advanced knowledge of environmental regulatory standards and compliance
Strong personable skills to work with internal employees and external contractors
Clarity of communication, both written and oral
Strong presentation and project management skills
Ability to manage multiple projects
Required Qualifications:
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Valid Driver’s License – must meet company criteria
Ability to travel approximately 20% of the time (variable depending on workload)
Preferred Qualifications:
CSP, ASP, CUSP, GSP or other related professional certification
Bachelor’s degree or higher in a management or safety related field
1 to 3 years’ experience working in a similar capacity in the utility and/or construction industries
