Leading technology transitions (e.g., IPv4 to IPv6, microwave radio updates) with a focus on cybersecurity and network architecture.
Facilitating the implementation of Zero Trust, Software-Defined Networking (SDN), and defense-in-depth strategies in enterprise solutions.
Serving as a technical liaison among FAA cyber stakeholders and infrastructure providers (network, security, cloud).
Evaluating vendor-proposed architectures and offering recommendations based on federal policy, security principles, and industry best practices.
Required Qualifications
Experience supporting federal government programs, particularly within the FAA or transportation sector.
Hands-on experience in network engineering or architecture, including expertise in network design, configurations, firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and load balancing.
In-depth knowledge of telecommunications infrastructure, including IPv4/IPv6 and WAN/LAN environments.

Ability to assess network and system security for large-scale, safety-critical systems such as those in the National Airspace System (NAS).
Experience advising on defense-in-depth architectures, Zero Trust concepts, SD-WAN technologies, and emerging technologies.
Proven ability to collaborate with engineers, project managers, and cybersecurity stakeholders to support ATO packages and continuous monitoring efforts.
Proficient in developing system security plans, risk assessments, and relevant security documentation.
Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident with a minimum of 3 years U.S. residency.
Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Telecommunications, or a related field.
12+ years of experience in cybersecurity or network security roles.
Substitutions may be available: A High School diploma with 18 years of experience or a Master's degree with 9 years of experience in cybersecurity or network security roles.
Desired Qualifications
Professional certifications such as CISSP, Security+, CCNA, or similar.
