Nationwide is looking to hire several detail driven, proactive problem solvers to join our Intermediated Licensing & Contracting team. This team supports agent onboarding, licensing, background checks, and maintenance across multiple distribution channels—ensuring our partners are compliant and ready to serve customers.
In this role, you’ll process licensing requests, review regulatory requirements, partner with Compliance and other internal teams, and provide exceptional service to agents and field partners. If you have a strong work ethic, and enjoy fast paced, high volume work, we want to hear from you.
What You’ll Do:
• Process licensing, appointments, and background checks
• Review and interpret licensing laws and regulatory changes
• Support agents and internal partners with licensing requirements

What You Need:
• NW licensing experience highly preferred
• 2+ years in licensing, insurance operations, compliance, or similar preferred
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
This position will be hired on a SuccessFlex basis.

As an Analyst, you'll be responsible for processing complex applications, registrations, contracting, appointment renewals and cancellations and/or maintenance requests, while adhering to state, federal and internal compliance regulations. You will review, analyze and interpret licensing laws and regulations. You also may have opportunities to serve as a subject matter authority to other licensing associates.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Reviews and processes moderately complex applications, registrations, and/or appointments and maintenance requests consistent with approved standards and practices accurately and in a timely manner. Orders and reviews producer/agency background information. Approves or advances for additional review based on internal guidelines.
Implements customary changes in insurance licensing requirements based on changes in laws, regulations or company policies. Maintains and updates regulatory related information, files across multiple distribution channels.
Maintains databases and related background information and files for assigned states, operation and/or distribution channel.
Receives incoming calls and requests from internal and external customers and responds in a manner that provides an outstanding customer experience. Advises and educates customers on licensing requirements and registration process, furnishes materials and submits forms and fees to state department of insurance and/or other regulatory agencies. Maintains records of all conversations.
Reviews, analyzes and interprets licensing laws and regulations. Assists in analyzing problems, not in good order issues and formulating solutions. Partners with other teams (General Counsel, Compliance, Commissions, Suitability, etc.) to resolve issues.
Serves as primary liaison between licensing and key internal and external customers on license issues. Builds and maintains business relationships with field partners and strategic relationships to facilitate appointment, licensing, and/or registration processing.
Meets standards of work set for the business unit, including quality assurance goals.
May perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Reporting Relationships: Reports to Manager/Supervisor.
Typical Skills and Experiences:
Education: High school or comparable diploma required. Industry-related coursework preferred. Undergraduate studies or degree desired.
License/Certification/Designation: Depending on business unit supported, may be required to be fingerprinted, pass an FBI background check and be associated with Nationwide Securities, LLC as a non-registered individual if not already FINRA registered. Progress toward completion of relevant designations, e.g., SILA Certification, is desirable.
Experience: Typically, two or more years of licensing or related industry experience in licensing, registration or in a technical position with the SEC, IRS, state insurance department or compliance.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: General knowledge of procedures related to license processing and regulatory requirements. Understands licensing terminology. Ability to effectively operate personal computer with related business and licensing software. Familiarity with Microsoft 365 applications. Proven verbal and written communication skills for contact with agents, brokers, management, field sales and regulatory agencies. Ability in analyze and interpret licensing regulations.
Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.
Staffing exceptions to the above must be approved by the Associate Vice President and HR Associate Vice President.
