Material Handler-Furnace (3rd Helper) works in the basement of the facility with a significant portion of time operating a fork truck. Fork truck is used to retrieve full hoppers of hubs, risers, slag, etc. and transfer them to the dumping area to be recycled. Worker uses bilateral hands and foot controls to operate fork truck. Frequent position of non-neutral neck while driving and controlling forks. Visual awareness of surroundings is critical and must be able to react quickly while driving fork truck if obstacle is present, or if other individuals are in the area. Worker must climb occasionally to enter and exit the fork truck.
