Introduction

The Department of Health Services (DHS), Central Wisconsin Center (CWC) is recruiting for a full-time IT Support Technician. This position will work in-person from CWC which is located at 317 Knutson Drive on the North side of Madison.

CWC provides short-term and long-term residential services to assist people living with intellectual disabilities in acquiring the personal skills needed to reach their highest potential.

The IT Support Technician will be filled at one of the two levels below.

Professional level

At this level, you will work under close progressing to limited supervision of the Information Technology Director. You will provide quality customer technical support services for hardware, software and networked computers and mobile devices. The technology is specific to the support and management of these systems for developmentally disabled residents and mental health patient treatment, in collaboration with the medical, behavioral and treatment departments. You'll need to have abroad knowledge of IS concepts, principles and practices and techniques, related to applications, software, network and databases. Duties include:

Performing technical support and management of networkable medical monitoring equipment, in collaboration with the Medical Equipment Management Coordinator.

Performing user accounts, systems and applications security administration and support.

Serving as a supportive liaison between IT and the living units to troubleshoot, maintain and/or discover programs specifically used by, or to facilitate treatment of, patients and residents. Senior level

At this level, you'll perform the duties described above independently (i.e. under general supervision).

Salary Information

The level of the position and salary will be determined based on the qualifications of the selected candidate. The pay ranges for each level are:

Professional level (Pay schedule and range 07/35): $31.00-$34.00 per hour

Senior level (Pay schedule and range 07/34): $34.00-$39.00 per hour

A 12-month probationary period is required.

This position is in the IS Comprehensive Services classification series. Individuals hired at the professional level may have the opportunity to advance within the classification series as they gain experience and knowledge of DHS systems.

Pay for current or former state employees is based upon the rules that apply to compensation for the applicable transaction. Job Details

All applicants who may be appointed to this position will be required to allow DHS to conduct a background check to determine whether the circumstances of any conviction may be related to the job being filled.

All appointees will be required to receive a TB test, which will be administered by CWC or medical personnel approved by the facility prior to their start date.

DHS does not sponsor work visas for this position, thus, in compliance with federal law, selected candidates will be required to verify eligibility to work in the United States by completing the required I-9 form upon hire. DHS is not an E-Verify employer nor a STEM-OPT eligible employer.

Qualifications

Minimally qualified applicants will have all of the following:

Experience providing end user IT technical support.

Experience provisioning user accounts and permissions to systems, data, or other information.

Experience installing, managing, or supporting hardware and software running on MS Windows or Apple iOS.

Well-qualified applicants will also have one or more of the following:

Experience with Internet/Intranet network protocols, operations, processes, and web connectivity.

Experience providing technical support in a health care setting

Experience working with protected health information or personally identifiable data. Your letter of qualifications is limited to two (2) pages and your resume is limited to three (3) pages.
