Senior Transportation Planner (654007)

The Sr. Transportation Planner will play an integral role in the daily operations of the company and contribute to its overall success. This position will support the Technical Studies Department.

The Sr. Transportation Planner will perform the responsibilities generally described below, as well as any additional duties as needed to support the overall objectives of the company:

Responsibilities:

Provides leadership and training to junior associates

Manages projects to ensure the quality of technical and written analysis and adherence to budget and schedule

Maintains a high-level of internal and external communications to ensure that all impacted parties are kept informed about project progress

Ensures cross-functional quality control by reviewing project-related documents and analyses for accuracy

Review and evaluates data supplied by others and recommends necessary changes

Ensures that systems and databases are accurate and actively maintained

Attend public hearings as needed

Engage with the development of strategies and processes for the technical studies department and company overall

Support positive client relations through consistent communication with internal and external stakeholders

Participate in continuing education to stay abreast of industry trends and maintain technical expertise

Uphold EPD core values in every day interactions with internal and external partners

24 months of experience

Experience with one of the following related systems: Synchro, PTV Vistro, Traffix, ESRI ArcGIS, and/or TransCAD

Experience in the preparation of the level of service (LOS) and vehicle miles traveled (VMT) analysis

Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office products and PowerPoint

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Planning or Transportation Engineering
