System Safety is responsible for ensuring our products are safe for the customer to use in any environment needed.

System Safety is involved from the design phase through its full life cycle.

Our input in the design phase is critical to ensuring end user safety.

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Principal System Safety Engineer to join us on the Air and Space team in Tucson, AZ.

As a Principal System Safety Engineer, your responsibilities will include: Analysis of engineering hardware, mechanical and electrical drawings and schematics assessment for fault tolerance, latent hazards, and safety requirement compliance.

Partner with system test and tactical operation and maintenance procedures to ensure the proper administrative system safety controls are in place.

Develop a System Safety Program and perform analyses primarily in accordance with Mil-Std-882 Work with varying sized system safety programs and support multiple programs to include: Monitoring program technical execution, Interfacing with stakeholders (e.g.

customers, program offices, subcontractors, vendors) Preparing Safety Assessment Reports and Safety Program Briefs for Customer Approval Briefing program safety at technical reviews and as part of the safety approval process Interpreting system requirements, customer specifications and military standards Preparing internal and customer reports describing various analyses relevant to the System Safety program ~ Typically Requires a bachelor’s degree in science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of relevant Systems Engineering or Safety Engineering experience . An advanced degree may account for additional years of experience as required for this position.

Experience with System Safety Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software or Firmware Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent Safety Engineering.

Experience with DoD System Safety Programs e.g.
