We are a tech-forward professional services firm looking for a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to support one of our key clients in the Construction Industry. This is a long-term contract position with no fixed end date, providing both stability and flexibility for the right professional.
You will be the financial backbone for this client, ensuring their project costs are tracked accurately and their compliance is up to date. This role requires two days per week on-site at the client's office in Toronto.
Key Responsibilities
Manage full-cycle bookkeeping, including Accounts Payable/Receivable and bank reconciliations.
Process payroll and ensure construction-specific deductions/remittances are handled correctly.
Maintain accurate project costing and tracking (WIP).
Support year-end processes, including the preparation and filing of T1 and T2 tax returns.
Utilize QuickBooks and Excel to generate insightful financial reports.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Advanced Excel Skills: Must be highly proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically with complex spreadsheets and data management.
QuickBooks Proficiency: Strong hands-on experience with QuickBooks is a major asset.
Construction Knowledge: Previous experience in the construction sector (job costing, progress billing) is a significant plus.
Tax Filing Experience: Familiarity with T1 and T2 filings is highly preferred.
