Service Engineer – Industrial Capital Equipment

Canton, MI (Approx. 40% Travel)

$100,000+ Base + Bonus

Full-Time U.S., Canada & Mexico Travel

Our client is seeking a Service Engineer to support heavy industrial, custom-built press equipment. All machinery is capital equipment manufactured internationally (Germany, Brazil, China) and built to specific customer requirements.

This is a service-side engineering role based out of the Canton service center, acting as the technical bridge between the field and internal operations.

What You’ll Do

Support and guide Field Service Technicians in the field

Assess job scope and assist with service coordination and scheduling

Provide troubleshooting support for complex electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems

Support new machine installations, commissioning, and warranty work

Review schematics and technical documentation to determine service strategy

Assist during escalated service situations and complex technical issues

Required Background (Must-Have)

Experience with capital equipment (non-negotiable)

Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills

Advanced knowledge of Allen Bradley PLC systems

Solid hydraulic systems experience

Exposure to heavy industrial press equipment preferred

Ability to support complex, custom machinery environments

Ideal Profile

Background in heavy industrial or custom-built machinery

Comfortable supporting both controls and hydraulic systems

Organized and capable of assisting with service scheduling and coordination

Technically confident but team-oriented
