BASIC FUNCTION
Manage the simulation program for the nursing and health sciences programs at Vermont State University. The simulation program is provided at multiple sites throughout the state of Vermont and includes a mobile van with simulator. Management of the program include such activities as promoting the use of simulation in providing the VTSU curricula, supporting simulation delivery based on evidence-based practice at multiple sites throughout Vermont, creating partnerships within VTSU and with outside agencies for the use of simulation, and overseeing the simulation program budget and inventory. Travel throughout the State of Vermont is required.
CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develop and manage a sustainable Simulation Program at VTSU, which includes the use of high-fidelity simulation, standardized patient simulation, and education experiences in the on campus clinical skills laboratory, high- and medium fidelity simulation clinical laboratories, and immersive room space.
• Develop and keep current a Policy and Procedure Manual relevant to Simulation education that meets accreditation and regulatory standards.
• Coordinate support related to delivery of simulation, including but not limited to arranging for maintenance and repairs of equipment, working with faculty to develop appropriate simulation learning activities to ensure learning outcomes, and implementing faculty and staff training in the use of the simulation pedagogy.
• Orient faculty to the safe and effective use of the simulation equipment
• Develop, evaluate, and refine clinical scenarios for high/medium/low-fidelity simulation experiences according to best practice.
• Obtain data related to simulation use and outcomes for use in decision making about the VTSU simulation program.
• Work with the Simulation Associate to troubleshoot basic issues related to the technology of the simulators.
• Collaborate with Simulation Associates to maintain a Statewide simulation inventory to inform recommendations for budget expenditures
• Participate in product training and technical maintenance and maintain the technical expertise required to effectively manage the functionality of multiple simulation spaces and venues.
• Create partnerships within and outside of the university to promote the use of simulation.
• Promote the use of simulation through tours, consultation; and attendance at local, regional and national simulation related events.
• Work with other university departments to develop opportunities for interprofessional simulation education
• Work with university personnel to seek, develop, and manage grant funding in support of simulation pedagogy.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required, graduate degree in nursing or health-related discipline preferred.
A minimum of 2 years of simulation experience using high fidelity simulation.
• A willingness to learn other simulation formats
• National certification related to simulation or willingness to attend a certification course within 1year of hire.
• Able to use instructional technology
• Possess excellent communication skills (written and oral)
• Management skills including budget management.
• Flexibility in work schedule required, as this position requires travel.

COMPENSATION: The budgeted compensation for this position is $88,000 - $95,000
