Job Summary
At Catholic Charities of Ingham, Eaton, and Clinton Counties, every team member plays an essential role in advancing our mission to serve vulnerable individuals and families with compassion and dignity. As part of our team, you will contribute to a wide range of services aimed at fostering hope, healing, and empowerment within the communities we serve.
Provide direct support to clients as directed, deemed or appropriate at the request and/or direction of supervisory staff. Direct support includes transportation, interpretation and translation of documents and services relating to clients, Program and Agency.
Key Responsibilities
Provide translation services, both within the Agency/Program and to outside the Agency partners, if applicable.
Case note all appropriate contacts and activities as directed.
Ensure all documentation is safeguarded and turned in as directed.
Provide transportation, as deemed necessary, from the airport (arrival), to DHHS, Social Security, Secretary of State, employers, health appointments and other supportive services, etc.
Maintain on-going communication with Case Managers and other Program staff to ensure client needs and requests are addressed.
Maintain a professional appearance and behavior as a representative of the Agency and Program.
Attend and actively participate in Agency and Program meetings, conferences, in-services and other meetings deemed appropriate.
Other duties as assigned Qualifications
Education: High School education. Preferred is directly related experience.
Experience:
Required Licenses, Certifications, and Training
A valid Michigan Driver License, access to reliable transportation and maintain appropriate insurance.
Fluency in a second language (French, Swahili, Kinyarwanda) that is representative of a Refugee population currently being served by the Program. (Required)
Prefer ability to work beyond the parameters of posted Agency/Program hours of operation as necessary to complete Job Responsibilities. Personal Attributes Anticipated

This position is on-site and may not be eligible for remote work
Attendance at occasional meetings or events outside regular business hours is required
The role involves working with sensitive or potentially traumatic information and direct interaction with individuals or families in crisis
Physical requirements include frequent use of hands for handling objects, tools, or controls; talking, bending, squatting, twisting, climbing, kneeling, reaching, and occasionally lifting or carrying up to 30 pounds
Vision requirements include close-up work, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus
The work environment may involve varying degrees of physical discomfort and occasional loud noise
Occasional driving, potentially with Clients, during the workday may be needed for operational purposes
