Join Our Smart Agents Team!
In the Smart Agents group, we are pioneering the development of innovative machine learning (ML) models and systems designed to simulate road users, creating realistic scenarios that enhance the training and testing of autonomous vehicle (AV) driving policies. If you envision simulation as a video game where our autonomous vehicles learn to navigate, our team shapes the behaviors of other road users—like vehicles, bikers, and pedestrians—allowing for authentic interactions as our vehicles drive.
We utilize a cutting-edge technology stack that includes Generative AI models and Reinforcement Learning (RL) policies. Collaborating closely with teams across Simulation, Behaviors, Perception, and Safety Engineering, we aim to elevate AV technology.
Your Responsibilities:
Develop and refine ML and RL models, alongside training loop optimization.
Create and enhance ML infrastructure, metrics, and data pipelines for both rapid experimentation and robust production deployment.
Contribute your software engineering expertise to the ML team.
Facilitate accelerated timelines for projects focused on Autopilot, Lane Keep, and AV technologies.
Bring your experience in simulation and robotics, particularly from an AV or robotics background.
Your Skills and Qualifications:
4+ years of experience in robotics or latency-sensitive services.
Background in machine learning algorithms and models.
Proven capability in building effective ML and system pipelines.
Strong programming skills in modern C++ or Python.
Additional Qualifications:
Experience with CPU/GPU software profiling, process scheduling, and prioritization.
A passion for self-driving technology and its broader implications.
Expertise in designing scalable, efficient, and fault-tolerant architectures that adapt over time.
Ability to approach complex systems with both depth in your domain and a broad understanding of others.
Flexibility to shift between coding, design, strategy, and mentorship as needed.
History of deploying perception, prediction, and AV models in real-world scenarios.
Experience with RL and sequence prediction models.
Compensation: Please note the salary range for this role is $134,000 to $235,900, with actual compensation varying based on factors like location, experience, and individual performance. In addition, a bonus potential exists based on company and individual achievements.
Remote Work: This position allows remote work; however, if you reside within a 50-mile radius of Atlanta, Austin, Detroit, Warren, Milford, or Mountain View, you will be expected to be onsite at least three times a week.
