What will your responsibilities be?

Develop, coordinate and steer purchasing strategy for the commodity plastics, by managing the plastics spend and suppliers within EMEA region. Identify, develop and onboard new suppliers.

Meet or exceed profit plan goals including: cost savings, material economics, quality, supplier rationalization, working capital improvements and other key metrics

Maintain and update cost saving roadmaps with monthly reconciliation to actual results

Lead strategic contract negotiations protecting Adient’s position. Drive sourcing decisions towards best cost countries.

Lead frequent business reviews with key suppliers. Manage suppliers in all phases of the automotive industry (develop suppliers, grow suppliers, exit and phase-out suppliers, etc.)

Ensure alignment with sourcing buyers and advanced procurement during sourcing and advanced processes, provide guidance as needed. Ensure alignment with Injection Molding tooling experts for optimal tool layout and cost. Leverage new business across all business units and customer groups.

Provide monthly resin market updates.

Act as a subject matter expert to internal and external stakeholders for direction on market resin pricing, injection molding specifics, supplier and commodity strategy.

Lead and drive cost reduction activities in coordination with other departments, i. e. Continuous Improvement, Post-Launch-Audits, VA/VE activities and global sourcing

Support solving of supplier, supply (force majeure) or cost related escalations.

Ensure the cost, quality and time-oriented supply of all Adient plants with the required plastics products in line with the respective business plans, budgets, targets and strategies.

Collaborate accross functions and departments (esp. ENG, Sales, Costing) to achieve financial and strategic goals.

Which qualifications are we looking for in potential employees?

University degree in Business, and/or Engineering with a focus on polymer technology.

Technical understanding of polymer technology, injection molding tools, resin types and additives preferred.

Minimum 6 years of experience in purchasing. Experience in procurement of injection molded and EPP parts preferred.

In depth understanding of purchasing tools and standard practices.

Knowledge of cost drivers of injection molded parts, resin market specifics and key players.

Ability to work independently with a high level of ownership and accountability for assigned commodity responsibilities

Strong execution capability, reliably delivering results without the need for close supervision

Ability to stay focused under pressure and maintain productivity and quality in time-critical situations

Excellent prioritization skills, distinguishing urgent business needs from less relevant topics

Ability to translate strategic commodity objectives into structured day-to-day actions

Self-driven problem-solving mindset, taking initiative rather than waiting for direction

Strong stress tolerance and resilience, maintaining composure in challenging situations

Relevant SAP knowledge

PC knowledge (Excel, PowerPoint)

Fluency in English required

This position will involve occasional business travel.
