POSITION: MAINTENANCE WORKER

7:00AM -3:00PM SHIFT

LOCATION: LODI PUBLIC SCHOOLS

QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Vocational training or technical certifications preferred.

Valid motor vehicle operator's license required.

Low Pressure Back Seal Boiler Operator License Required.

Proven experience in building maintenance, facilities operations, or a related field. Minimum 5-year experience.

Knowledge of plumbing. Electrical, HVAC, carpentry, masonry, painting, and general repair techniques.

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.

Physical ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders, and work in various weather conditions.

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Snow Plowing Experience preferred.

Experience performing electrical repairs preferred.

Basic computer literacy skills including email, workorder system, etc.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform plumbing repairs including fixing leaks, installing valves, installing plumbing fixtures including toilets, faucets, sinks, water fountains, etc.

General carpentry repairs including but not limited to framing, sheet rock, hung ceilings, replacing door hardware, hanging doors, mounting fixtures, installing plan wall hung TV units.

Performs general mason repairs.

Repairs plaster walls and ceilings.

Prepares and paints interior surfaces including drywall, metal, wood and masonry.

Repairs windows and replaces broken glass.

Cleans tools and equipment regularly.

Assists HVAC Technician with repairs and preventative maintenance.

Snow Removal Responsibilities.

Performs general maintenance on equipment and vehicles as necessary.

Repairs flooring including vinyl tile replacement.

Performs general demolition as necessary.

Maintains essential records.

REPORTS TO: Supervisor of Buildings and Grounds or designee.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand: use hands and fingers to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to reach with arms and hands. The employee frequently must kneel, squat, stoop and reach forward. The employee must be able to lift 50 lbs., such as chemicals, supplies, salt and the unloading of trucks.
