Remote Entry Level Translator

Ed's Heating Cooling Plumbing Electric is looking for a friendly, enthusiastic, attentive, and reliable Entry Level Translator for our growing business team. The Translator shall have a positive attitude, who actively listens to customer needs and asks questions to understand those needs. The Translation offers solutions to help achieve client success and build repeat value for clients and the company. Collaboration with Ed’s team and clients is key.

This position will collaborate closely with Ed's Heating Cooling Plumbing Electric Professional Development Team and the Instruction Design Team to identify the needs for both face-to-face and online trainings. It will involve engaging in discussions with Subject Matter Experts to consider which videos, articles, games, or songs may need updating for the Spanish, Japanese, Korea, Chinese, Portuguese and German version of the trainings. Additionally, there will be opportunities to discuss concepts and content for both online and face-to-face trainings.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Translate written documents from Spanish,Japanese, Korea, Chinese, Portuguese and German into English and from English into Spanish,,Japanese, Korea, Chinese, Portuguese and German . Documents includes but is not limited to learner guides, handouts, audio/video transcription, consumer material, and other professional development material.

2,Reads and rewrites learner guides, handouts, videos, following established rules pertaining to factors such as word meanings, sentence structure, grammar, punctuation, and mechanics.

2.Sends approved translated documents to appropriate contacts within ECSC.

3.Serves as interpreter at meetings and trainings providing consecutive or simultaneous translation between both languages.

4.Listens to complete statements in one language, translates to second, and translates responses from second into first language; expresses either approximate or exact translation, depending on nature of occasion.

5.In simultaneous interpreting, renders oral translation of material at time it is being spoken.

6.Receives briefing or prepares through reading and study on subject to be discussed prior to interpreting session.

7.May perform a number of other similar or related duties which may not be specifically included within this position description, but which are consistent with the general level of the job and the responsibilities described.
