Infrastructure Engineer with Windows Server Expertise

Position Overview

We are looking for a skilled Infrastructure Engineer specializing in Windows Server to maintain and support a vital enterprise environment for a Federal customer. This role focuses on Windows server image management, infrastructure support, provisioning, and ensuring security compliance across both unclassified (NIPR) and classified (SIPR) environments. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills in Windows Server administration, infrastructure operations, and Department of Defense (DoD) security standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Windows Server Engineering & Image Management

Stay updated across all supported Windows Server versions and approved hardware platforms.

Build and maintain Windows Server environment variants, incorporating necessary service packs, hotfixes, and customer-specific requirements.

Quarterly updates of Windows Server images or as needed, ensuring comprehensive distribution across the enterprise.

Coordinate with the Windows engineering team to provide provisioning support for call orders.

Maintain accurate licensing tracking and compliance for Windows provisioning.

Guide PMO and technical teams daily on provisioning activities based on DEPS requests.

Provide regular acceptance criteria and status updates to the customer.

Infrastructure Management & Support

Oversee the management and support of infrastructure in both NIPR and SIPR environments.

Deploy, configure, and support infrastructure hardware and software, including necessary updates and changes.

Monitor hardware capacity and performance to ensure system reliability and availability.

Utilize performance and utilization monitoring tools to meet internal and customer requirements.

Security & Compliance

Ensure IAVA compliance for all Windows infrastructure servers in NIPR and SIPR environments.

Act as the primary Host-Based Security System (HBSS) administrator for all Windows Management and Supplemental stack servers.

Implement and maintain Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) for all related servers.

Stay updated with applicable STIGs and customer security requirements.

Review and address POA&M items resulting from security assessments.

Adhere to all necessary security training and certification requirements.

Requirements:

Active Secret Security Clearance.

CompTIA Security+ certification.

Extensive experience supporting Windows Server environments, preferably in a DoD setting.

Hands-on experience with server provisioning and infrastructure support.

Familiarity with NIPR/SIPR environments and DoD security protocols.

Willingness to work onsite at the designated locations.

Preferred Qualifications:

CISSP certification or progress toward obtaining CISSP.

Experience with HPE server infrastructure.

Previous experience in a federal or defense contracting environment.
