Junior Construction Estimator

Stewart Construction is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Estimator to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their construction career who wants to develop strong estimating skills while working on high-quality commercial and multi-unit residential projects throughout Vermont.

As a Junior Estimator, you will support our senior estimating team in evaluating drawings and specifications, preparing quantity take-offs, coordinating with subcontractors, and learning the full estimating process from bid selection through closeout. You will work closely with experienced professionals who are invested in mentoring and helping you grow into a key contributor within the company.

Job Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation of detailed cost estimates

Perform quantity take-offs using computer-based estimating software

Help assemble subcontractor bid packages and track incoming bids

Communicate with subcontractors and vendors to obtain pricing and clarifications

Support estimate organization, pricing, review, and bid closeout

Develop relationships with new subcontractors and suppliers

Participate in pre-construction meetings and internal estimate reviews

Maintain organized and accurate estimating files and documentation

Skills & Qualifications

1–3 years of experience in commercial construction or estimating

Strong attention to detail with solid math and analytical skills

Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines

Ability to read construction drawings and specifications

Good written and verbal communication skills

Comfortable working in a collaborative, small-team office environment

Eagerness to learn, take initiative, and grow professionally
