CoverMyMeds is a healthcare technology organization that helps patients get the medications they need by reducing barriers to access, affordability and adherence. We streamline processes like prior authorization, connect providers, pharmacies, payers, and pharmaceutical companies, and use data-driven technology to increase speed to therapy and reduce prescription abandonment.
We're hiring a Research Manager to support our portfolio of products by monitoring and building an outside in understanding of the macro environment (policy and regulatory changes, payer/provider dynamics, technology shifts such as AI, economic indicators, societal trends) and tracking the external market landscape (player moves, positioning, pricing, partnerships, launches). The Research Manager will help synthesize findings into clear, decision ready insights that inform long range planning (LRP), portfolio discussions, and quarterly business reviews. The position offers visibility with senior leaders through contributions to high impact strategic work.
*Our ideal candidate will reside in Columbus, OH to support a hybrid working model, but we may consider a highly qualified fully remote candidate.
What You Will Deliver:
Quarterly Macro Environment Inputs: Support development of briefings with scenario considerations and concise implications for the business
External Landscape Dashboards: Build and maintain dashboards tracking player activity, market signals, and early warning indicators
Decision Support Memos: Translate external changes into structured summaries that support product strategy, GTM prioritization, and investment decisions
Research Syntheses: Compile and synthesize insights from primary and secondary research to validate assumptions and quantify market dynamics (adoption, satisfaction, segment size)
Core Responsibilities:
1. Macro Environment Intelligence & External Market Landscape
Monitor relevant policy, regulatory, payer, and provider developments; summarize expected directional impact
Analyze macro trends (utilization, affordability, health equity indicators) and translate into concise implications for portfolio and product teams
Track activity and map shifts in the external landscape that highlights differentiation, unmet needs, and opportunity areas by segment
2. Research Methods & Synthesis
Assist with designing and executing quantitative and qualitative studies to understand unmet needs, adoption, and satisfaction; coordinate vendor activities to ensure rigor and timing
Integrate multiple data sources (public, syndicated, proprietary), evaluate reliability, and synthesize into well structured outputs.
AI experience & insights utilization is a plus
3. Influence & Communication
Translate research findings and market signals into clear narratives and executive ready visuals
Work cross functionally with Product, Strategy, Sales, Policy, and Finance to align on insights and support downstream decision making
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Policy, Data/Analytics, or related field, or equivalent (advanced degree a plus but not required)
Experience: Typically requires 4+ years of experience in market research, macro trends, or external landscape monitoring (healthcare or health tech strongly preferred)
Research Skills: Experience with survey design, qualitative methods, and secondary research synthesis
Communication: Strong ability to build clear, concise slides and synthesize complex data for leadership audiences

Experience with syndicated datasets, scenario planning, and signal tracking frameworks
Ability to challenge assumptions and support recommendations with evidence
AI experience & insights utilization and willingness to learn AI is a plus

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations.
