Job Description
Position Summary
The Production Scheduler/Planner performs the following activities:
Production Planning
Production Support/Maintain System
Material Requirements Planning
Essential Functions
Production Planning
Plan and establish production schedules for Manufacturing and Assembly.
Plan and establish samples and PPAPs for Manufacturing and Assembly.
Plan and direct scheduling of all items requiring GP-12, Final Inspection or sort activity.
Monitor and analyze customer requirements through MRP and implement course of action required
Monitor and analyze inventory and make recommendations for improvements.
Track progress, coordinate and work with Production to schedule production runs in a cost and time efficient manner
Schedule according to lot sizes where possible (Manufacturing)
Production Support
Review factors that affect schedules
Work with Production, Customer Service, and Logistics to ensure that customer orders are available in time for shipment
Material and Requirements Planning
Coordinate and schedule for material requirements
Coordinate with Purchasing when outside vendor expediting is required
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Word-processing and spreadsheet application software; working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Windows
ERP Operational Software – Working knowledge of SAP.
Quality and Environmental Policies (ICM Management Master Manual)
Scheduling principles, basic supply chain management, detailed scheduling and planning
Communication skills: interpersonal and business writing skills
Product Knowledge
Qualifications
Education / Experience
Bachelor’s degree in business administration (preferred)
3-5 years of manufacturing experience including process flows
Scheduling Techniques (preferred)
Basic Supply Chain Management (SCM)
Capacity Planning
