Job Summary: Develops automated functional test systems for DoD and international defense customers. Primary focus is radio test system development using NI LabVIEW software applications. Works on a 9/80 schedule with every other Friday off.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and debug software applications for test and measurement equipment control using NI LabVIEW.
Continuously improve measurement algorithms, techniques, and reporting to enhance quality and reduce costs.
Consult with electrical engineers to evaluate measurement techniques.
Participate in new software architectures to maximize reuse, reduce development costs, and improve quality.
Port existing test applications to new platforms.
Support existing orders and proposals for test solutions business growth.
Occasionally support installation and commissioning of test systems at customer facilities.
Provide technical guidance to early-career engineers.
Required Qualifications:
Technical Skills:
Bachelor's Degree with 6+ years relevant experience, or Graduate Degree with 4+ years, or 10+ years related experience without degree.
NI LabVIEW and TestStand experience.
Basic networking (TCP/IP) knowledge.
Radio/RF communication system experience.
Functional Skills:
Object-Oriented Programming and Design (OOP/OOD) knowledge preferred.
Familiarity with software management tools (SVN/GIT, JIRA) preferred.
RF and baseband test/measurement experience preferred.
Familiarity with test equipment (Spectrum/Network analyzers, Power Meters, DMMs, Oscilloscopes, Audio analyzers) preferred.
Behavioral Skills:
Ability to consult and collaborate with engineering teams.
Capability to provide technical guidance to junior engineers.
