Key responsibilities

Lead and grow the Personalization Platform engineering team, providing technical direction, coaching, and performance support.

Define and own the technical strategy for personalization, experimentation, search, and growth infrastructure in partnership with Product and Data.

Drive execution on scalable, reliable systems that power recommendations, A/B testing, feature flagging, and real-time personalization.

Build self-serve tools and platforms that enable product teams to ship personalized experiences without engineering bottlenecks.

Partner closely with Data to integrate user context, segmentation, and ML models into product experiences.

Ensure high standards for system reliability, performance, and operational excellence across personalization infrastructure.

Participate in architecture decisions, code reviews, and technical discussions, staying hands-on enough to guide quality and tradeoffs.

Communicate clearly with stakeholders and leadership, balancing technical debt, delivery, and business impact.

Hire, onboard, and develop engineers while continuously improving team processes and ways of working.

Required Skills and Experience

Experience & leadership

You have 3+ years of engineering management experience, leading teams working on growth, personalization, search, experimentation, or platform systems.

You have experience accelerating growth of B2B SaaS products

You’ve successfully led teams through ambiguous, fast-moving environments and shifting priorities.

You have experience hiring, coaching, and developing engineers, including performance management when needed.

Technical depth

You bring strong hands-on experience with modern web and backend technologies, including TypeScript, Python, Node.js, GraphQL, and Next.js.

You’ve contributed to architecture and system design for scalable, production-grade platforms.

You’re comfortable participating in code reviews and technical discussions, even if you’re not coding daily.

Personalization & growth expertise

You understand personalization strategies, including experimentation, user segmentation, and recommendation systems.

You’ve partnered closely with data teams on A/B testing, metrics, and ML model integration.

You’ve built or scaled systems that directly support activation, engagement, or retention.

Collaboration & communication

You communicate clearly in writing and verbally, especially in remote-first environments.

You can balance technical quality with business needs and help stakeholders make informed tradeoffs.

You’re trusted by product and data partners as a thoughtful, solutions-oriented leader.

Strong bonus signals

You’ve led platform or self-service tooling used by multiple product teams.

You’ve navigated system migrations or major architectural changes.
