We are looking for a skilled Database Solutions Engineer with significant expertise in SQL Server and Microsoft Azure to enhance our product engineering team. If you excel in a dynamic, AI-enhanced software development life cycle (SDLC) and are passionate about developing scalable, secure, and high-performance data platforms, we want to hear from you!

Applicants must be available to work on a W2 basis due to client requirements. We offer an excellent benefits package, including Medical, Dental, Vision, 401k with company matching, and life insurance for our W2 consultants.

Compensation: $60 - $70 / hr. W2

Key Responsibilities:

Design, implement, and optimize SQL Server databases focusing on high availability, scalability, and performance.

Lead and support migration initiatives to Azure for legacy databases and data services.

Develop and maintain cloud-native data solutions using:

Azure SQL (including Hyperscale)

Azure Data Factory

Azure Cosmos DB

Other relevant Azure data services.

Operate within an AI-driven SDLC, including:

Collaborating with AI tools to translate business requirements into data models and technical specifications.

Using generative AI techniques to refine database architecture and performance strategies.

Engaging in pair programming with AI assistants to write, refactor, and validate SQL code in real-time.

Automating validation, performance monitoring, bug prediction, and self-healing data pipelines.

Working closely with application engineers to ensure seamless integration of data systems with product features.

Monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving database performance, security, and compliance issues.

Experience Requirements:

6+ years of experience in database engineering, with a strong emphasis on SQL Server.

Deep expertise in:

Database design and normalization (3rd Normal Form).

Indexing strategies.

Query optimization.

Stored procedure development and tuning.

Significant experience with database modeling and data architecture.

3 to 5 years of experience with NoSQL, including Azure Cosmos DB.

Solid understanding of SQL Server internals, including Azure SQL Database Hyperscale.

Proven ability to review execution plans and optimize high-volume queries and stored procedures.

Hands-on experience monitoring database performance from both system and database perspectives.

Familiarity with SQL Server Trace and performance diagnostic tools.

Demonstrated experience with:

Azure SQL.

Azure Data Factory.

Cloud-native and distributed data architectures.

Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools, such as GitHub Copilot or similar.

Experience with distributed databases, ELT pipelines, and data streaming technologies is a strong plus.
