This role supports a large, multi-team engineering organization where individual engineering teams own their applications, and the DBA function provides shared operational expertise, performance guidance, and platform stewardship.
The DBA will work closely with existing DevOps teams on platform reliability, observability, and operational best practices, while providing direct support to the broader engineering organization as a database subject matter expert.
This is a highly hands-on role with direct impact.
The organization is relatively flat, with minimal barriers between identifying an issue and implementing a solution.
The DBA is expected to be actively involved in diagnosing problems, making improvements, and driving changes end-to-end rather than operating through layers of handoffs or approvals.
The focus is on keeping database platforms healthy, performant, secure, and scalable, while partnering with teams early in the design and development process.
Our environment is primarily AWS RDS, with a significant SQL Server footprint and a growing set of PostgreSQL workloads.
Most of the day-to-day work centers around performance analysis, query optimization, and operational troubleshooting, with an emphasis on proactive improvements over reactive firefighting.
Apply if you’re excited to:
