The Infrastructure Engineer role is part of the Infrastructure Operations teams that support the client Office36/Azure environment. The primary responsibilities include Tier 3 support for an Office 365/Azure environment. Primary responsibilities include resolving escalated customer incident tickets escalated from Tier 1 and 2 support teams, along with creating and documenting policy and procedure to ensure the environment remains in a health. The role requires someone self-motivated, who is an out of the box thinker and ready to challenge the status quo.

What Does A Day In the Life of this Job Look Like?

Daily Operations

Manage/Troubleshoot both 0365/Azure Entra related incidents to include many of the following functions: Exchange Mailboxes/Resources, Azure Entra Users/Groups, Microsoft Defender Protection of User Accounts/Mail Flow.

Administrators Mailboxes, PowerBi Workspaces, SharePoint/Teams Spaces, and Power Automate workspaces following best practices by Microsoft for both the domestic and international markets

Monitors the performance of the on-premise and online mail flow, application availability, and security to ensure a stable and consistent customer experience

Works across multiple teams to troubleshoot and resolve customer related issues around Email Security such as DMARC/DKIM/SPF, Firewall access to the Microsoft Platform, and Desktop/custom applications that connect to the 0365 Platform.

Engineer and maintain proactive monitoring and security improvements of mail flow, user access to the platform, and other features within Azure to further protect users, and implement best practice of least privilege security access to the data stored within the 0365/Azure platform.

Utilizes various tools such as Exchange Management Console, 0365 Admin Center, Security and Compliance Center, PowerShell, and other Office365 tools EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s Degree EXPERIENCE (and other qualifications):

1-3+ years of experience with Office 365/Azure Entra Support

Experience working in an Exchange Hybrid Environment (On-Premise Exchange 2019)

Basic knowledge of additional Office 365 technologies SharePoint, OneDrive, PowerBi

Proficient with PowerShell scripting and other scripting skills used to manage 0365/Azure Resources

Understanding of Mail Relay/Flow and the Security protocols around it.

Understanding of Active Directory and Active Directory Attributes

Other Skills/Characteristics

Basic knowledge of Windows Server technologies

Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills

Technical documentation skills

Excellent troubleshooting and research skills

Familiar with Incident and Change Management processes (ServiceNow)

Ability to work independently with minimal guidance and direction
