Cloud and Systems Engineer, NO C2C, on-site, local candidates only

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Cloud and Systems Engineer to manage and maintain Microsoft Windows environments, endpoint security, and cloud infrastructure across hybrid platforms. This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer with deep expertise in Active Directory, Group Policy, cybersecurity hardening, and modern cloud architecture.

This position requires a strong technical foundation in both on-premises and cloud environments, with the ability to optimize system performance, implement secure configurations, and support enterprise infrastructure operations.

Design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure across AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud

Maintain and support hybrid IT infrastructure including servers, storage, and networking

Administer and maintain Active Directory, including security groups and permissions

Implement and troubleshoot Group Policy Objects (GPOs)

Monitor system performance and apply patches, updates, and upgrades

Maintain Windows Server and Workstation operating system baselines

Implement hardened endpoint security configurations and least-privilege access controls

Restrict local administrator access and enforce security best practices

Support technical staff in diagnosing and resolving system failures

Develop logical solutions to complex system administration issues

Implement and manage disaster recovery and system replication strategies

Deploy cloud-native solutions including containerized and microservices architectures

Write, interpret, and troubleshoot PowerShell scripts for automation

Technical Skills

Microsoft Windows Server, Office 365, File Clusters, and Print Servers

Active Directory and Group Policy management

Zero-Trust architecture implementation

Virtual resource optimization

TCP/IP networking and cybersecurity principles

Cloud technologies including M365 and Intune

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related field

10+ years of experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, GPOs, cybersecurity, and networking

Security+, MCSA, or MCSE certifications are a plus

Azure certifications (AZ-900, AZ-104) are a plus

Solid understanding of security controls and cloud technologies
